300 transport workers have blocked a road in Mohakhali to protest against the filing of a case against a bus by the traffic police in the capital’s Khilkhet area. The road blockade that began around 3 pm on Wednesday (February 26) has caused severe traffic congestion from Mohakhali to Banani, Uttara, Gulshan and surrounding areas. The city residents have been suffering.
Later, at around 4:45 pm, the blockers left the road. However, vehicles were moving slowly in the area till the time of writing this report at around 5:30 pm. Law enforcement is trying to normalize the movement of vehicles.
Meanwhile, those injured in the July movement have taken a stand in front of the office of the chief advisor to the interim government, Dr. Muhammad Yunus. On Wednesday afternoon, they took out a procession and sat on the road in front of the chief advisor’s office in Tejgaon in the capital. At that time, they raised various slogans demanding appropriate compensation and adequate assistance.
