Young woman dies due to senior-junior conflict

A young man, Md. Tanvir (22), who was stabbed in the capital’s Badda, died at Dhaka Medical College Hospital on Thursday morning. He worked in a private institution. Police and family members of the deceased Tanvir said that Tanvir was stabbed due to a senior-junior dispute. Tanvir was a member of the junior group. Three people have been arrested in a case filed in the incident.

Tanvir was brought to Dhaka Medical College Hospital by his father, Shahadullah. He said that he lives with his family in the Badda cemetery area. Tanvir used to live with them. Tanvir returned home from work last night. He went out again at around 9:30 pm. Six to seven members of the local senior group near his house stabbed Tanvir in the back indiscriminately, taking his mobile phone and monthly salary of Tk 10,000 from him and throwing him on the road. On receiving information, Tanvir was rescued in a bloody state and taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital. He died at around 9am while undergoing treatment there, said Dhaka Medical College Hospital Police Camp Inspector Md. Faruk.

This morning, Badda Police Station Officer-in-Charge Md. Saiful Islam said that the murder occurred due to a senior-junior dispute. Last night, Tanvir’s father Shahadullah filed a murder case with the police station, naming six people. The investigating officer of the case Md. Hasanur Rahman said that after the case was filed, a raid was conducted in the Badda graveyard area last night and Shaon, Habib and Swadhin, who were included in the complaint, were arrested.
