As part of four new important initiatives in the digitization of the police, the government has decided to launch a short code to prevent violence against women. Through this government initiative, women will be able to easily file complaints in addition to the police hotline service. This information was given in a statement sent by the Deputy Press Secretary to the Chief Advisor, Abul Kalam Azad Majumdar, on Tuesday (March 11) afternoon.

To prevent violence against women, a new short code 3333 will be added to the currently operating national helpline 333. Women will be able to report any incidents of torture by calling this number or through the short code. In addition, 100% female members will be kept in the call center, so that women can feel free to report their complaints. However, this service will not be included in 999, the 3333 service will remain separate for now.

In addition, changes are also coming to the method of filing general diaries online. The online FIR system is being added. In this case, after the profile is downloaded to the call center, the call will go directly to the concerned police station. Currently, work is being done on a database of phone numbers of police station officials, said Faiz Ahmed Tayyab, Special Assistant to the Chief Advisor. The ICT Division will provide all kinds of technical support for the implementation of the initiatives, said the Special Assistant to the Chief Advisor.
