The last time tourist travel in Cox’s Bazar’s coral island in St. Martin is until January 5. According to the Ministry of Environment, Forests and Climate Change, travel to this island of blue water from February is prohibited. Meanwhile, residents of the island and tourism traders demanded the lifting of the ban for another month, but the decision has not changed so far.

Tourism traders said tourists travel from October 1 to March 7 on St. Martin’s Island. But this year, various restrictions were issued, including the limitation of tourists from the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change. Where tourists can go to St. Martin in November but the decision is not to spend the night. In December and January, 2,000 tourists will be able to visit and spend the night, and in February, tourists will not be able to go to St. Martin.

Tourists could not go to Saint Martin in November to get permission to the ship in time. And the ship is allowed from December 5 last year to travel to St. Martin through travel passes. According to the decision of the Ministry of Environment, Forests and Climate Change, St. Martin’s journey will end on January 5. Due to which the residents of the island are worried.

St. Martin Union Parishad Chairman Mujibur Rahman said the livelihood of 5,000 people on the island is associated with tourism. They run the family throughout the year by doing some business during the tourist season. Residents would benefit if the ship movement was extended until February.

Cox’s Bazar Additional District Magistrate Imran Hossain Sajib told the media, “St. Martin’s ships will be able to operate till January 5. After that, the tourist vessels will not be allowed to operate. If the government gives any directive to the extended the directive, action will be taken according to that directive. ”
