The suffering of the people of Uttarkhan & Dakshinkhan

About 9 years ago, the Uttar City Corporation formed 18 new wards covering an area of 114 square kilometers to increase civic services. Although included in the city, the residents of these areas do not get any civic amenities at all.
On one side of the capital’s Airport Road is a well-planned residential area like Uttara. And the residents of the opposite side do not get even a share of the necessary civic amenities. Despite being residents of the City Corporation on paper, there is daily suffering on every road. Due to pending work, mosquito infestation is increasing and there is a strong regret of paying bills year after year without getting utility services.
Residents say that the City Corporation is collecting taxes correctly. But the suffering of the residents of Uttarkhan and Dakshinkhan is endless. They are in danger even after settling in this area.
Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) says that about 1,847 crore taka has been allocated for land acquisition for roads in these areas.
