Shahbagh is not a tag, it is a symbol of fascism, said Bangladesh Islamic Students’ Union President Zahidul Islam. He said this in a status posted on his verified Facebook page on Wednesday (March 12) afternoon.
He said, “The Shahbagi group established fascism in Bangladesh through this theory of ‘I don’t want justice, I want hanging’. They have spread Islamophobia in the country and violence in the existing harmonious society with their ideological hegemony. They have made Hasina the ‘godmother of fascism’. They were the main planners of the massacre in the wake of the Shapla massacre and Allama Sayedee’s verdict.
He also said that Hasina must take responsibility for all the massacres she has committed, including July, standing on the fascist platform created in Shahbagh. He called the Shahbagis ‘brokers of fascism’ and demanded justice.
