A rest is taken after every four rak’ahs in Tarawih prayer.

During the month of Ramadan, the 20 rak’ah prayer performed after the four rak’ahs of the obligatory and two rak’ahs of the sunnah prayers of Isha and before the Witr prayer, with two rak’ahs and 10 salutations, is called ‘Tarabi prayer’.

Intention for Tarawih prayer

The intention can be made in both Arabic and Bengali.

In Bengali, the intention is, I intend to pray two rak’ahs of Tarawih prayer, facing the Qiblah, in the Sunnah of the Messenger of Allah, the Most High. Allahu Akbar. (If it is a congregation, you should add that I am praying behind this imam).

It is not necessary or obligatory to make the intention for Tarawih prayer in Arabic. You can also make the intention in Bengali like this, ‘For the sake of Allah, I am praying two rak’ahs of Tarawih prayer facing the Qiblah. How to pray Tarawih prayer:

Pray two rak’ahs and end the prayer with the salaam. Pray two more rak’ahs. After praying four rak’ahs in this way, take a little rest. During the rest, recite Tasbih Tahlil, supplications, and dhikr. Then pray Tarawih again with two rak’ahs and separate intentions.

Tarawih prayer supplications
A rest is taken after every four rak’ahs in Tarawih prayer. It is customary to recite a supplication at this time in our country. Almost all mosque worshippers recite this supplication. The prayer is-

One thing to remember is that if for some reason you are unable to perform Tarawih prayers one day, there will be no loss in your fasting. You will have to suffer the punishment for not performing the prayers. Many people in society believe that if you do not perform Tarawih prayers, you will not be fasting, but there is no such thing in the Quran or Hadith. This is a completely wrong idea.
