Eid shopping is in full swing in the capital. In addition to shopping malls, people are also flocking to sidewalk shops. A week before Eid, everyone is doing last-minute shopping with their families. Crowds can be seen overflowing from morning to midnight at hawker markets located on the sidewalks. Four to five hundred hawker shops are located on the roads and sidewalks of Bangabandhu Avenue in Gulistan. Various types of products are displayed in these shops. Everyone is buying the products of their choice at a high price.

On Monday afternoon, it was seen that buyers were buying various types of products on the sidewalks of Gulistan. There are shops selling shirts, pants, T-shirts, Punjabis, pajamas, children’s clothes, lungis, three-pieces, sarees, lehengas, trousers, shoes, belts, watches, wallets, glasses, and everything else here. Jeans-gabardine pants and various types of shirts are available in the shops for just 100 to 500 taka. Punjabis are available for between 250 and 1000 taka. Colorful T-shirts are available for 50 to 250 taka.

Seller Imran Hossain said, “There is a lot of demand from the lower and middle class on the sidewalk. So there are clothes according to everyone’s budget. Sales start in the morning. However, sales increase a little from afternoon to midnight. Then the number of people increases. I hope everything will be sold by the moon night.”
