The advisor’s special assistant, Lieutenant General (retd) Abdul Hafiz, spoke to the injured in the July movement who took a stand in front of the office of the chief advisor to the interim government, Dr. Muhammad Yunus, demanding appropriate compensation and adequate assistance. On Wednesday (February 26) afternoon, he spoke to the protesters about their demands.
At that time, Lieutenant General (retd) Abdul Hafiz said, the current interim government was formed as a result of the movement you carried out. We all wanted a beautiful and new Bangladesh. You were injured for this, you gave your blood. I thank you for the struggle you have made.
This special assistant to the chief advisor said, I will also request that the matter be given due consideration. I hope you will withdraw this sit-in strike. ‘Only the fighters on the battlefield will be ‘freedom fighters’, the rest are collaborators’
Earlier, this afternoon, the protesters took out a procession and sat on the road in front of the office of the Chief Advisor in Tejgaon in the capital. At that time, they were seen raising various slogans demanding appropriate compensation and adequate assistance.
Incidentally, these injured people of the July movement had previously blockaded the advisor’s residence in Shyamoli, Shahbagh, and Jamuna in the capital at various times demanding recognition and rehabilitation.
