The Chief Advisor’s Press Secretary Shafiqul Alam said that the interim government has taken charge of the broken economy, but what has been done in the past 6 months and the way it has made a comeback is a miracle. Speaking at the ‘DJFB Talk’ organized by the NEC Conference DJFB in Sher-e-Bangla Nagar in the capital on Wednesday (February 26), the Chief Advisor’s Press Secretary Shafiqul Alam said that the interim government has taken charge of the broken economy.
But what has been done in the past 6 months and the way it has made a comeback is a miracle. He also said that inflation has come down in the last two months, and we hope that inflation will come down further in February. It is expected that it will come down to 7 percent by June. He said that discipline needs to be restored in the energy sector. There has been state-sponsored robbery in this sector. We are working for a permanent solution in the electricity sector. Talks are being held with big power companies. We want to dig a large number of wells for gas.
He also said, the government is trying to build a Bangladesh-India, Bhutan and Nepal South Asia Electricity Grid. Bringing stability to the banking sector is a big commitment of this government. Stability has returned to many banks. More will return. If no one is skilled in the energy system, no one will invest. Robbery has been arranged in the power system. Investment is needed in the country, it has not been done. It was not good to do the revenue system. There is no money in hand, which the previous government spent. 560 model mosques have been built at a high cost, which could have been done with less money.
