Today is the holy Lilatul Qadr or Shabe Kadar on the night of March 28. This night is a very glorious night for Muslims. Religious Muslims spend this night through worship. After Ramadan, any odd night can be credited. However, the scholars believe that Shabe Kadar comes on the night of Ramadan. On the occasion of Shabe Kadar, 20 Ramadan is a public holiday. This day is Friday.
The Holy Qur’an is revealed on the night of Shabe Qadr. This night there is also a Surah called ‘al-Qadr’ in the Holy Qur’an. The word ‘Shabe Kadar’ is Persian. Shab means night or night or kadar means honor, dignity, quality, possibility, fate etc. Shabe Qadr means night of dignity or fate. Shabe Kadar’s Arabic is Lilatul Qadr, the honorable night. On this night the honor of the followers of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) was increased and the fate of mankind was rescheduled.
It is mentioned in the Holy Qur’an that at other times, the reward that is available for a thousand months, is more rewarded than the night worship of Shabe Qadr. Therefore, like the Muslims of different countries of the world, the Muslims of Bangladesh will spend the night through Nafl worship, Quran recitation and Zikir-Asker in the hope of forgiveness of their sins and reward. On this holy night, many went to the cemetery and prayed for forgiveness of their relatives.
