Factories making sharbat ingredients are being set up everywhere without any permission. Despite being risky, they are also being marketed. Upon receiving a complaint, Sadar Upazila Executive Officer Jamshed Alam Rana conducted a drive at Moulvir Hat in Tewariganj Union of Lakshmipur Sadar Upazila. At that time, Upazila Executive Officer Jamshed Alam Rana fined an unlicensed sharbat ingredient making establishment named ‘Taha me Orange’ with one lakh taka in a mobile court. The establishment has been sealed.
Sadar Upazila Executive Officer Jamshed Alam Rana imposed this fine on Sunday (March 2) afternoon.
The upazila administration said that the Safe Food Authority and the Upazila Executive Officer conducted a drive at the establishment with the help of the police. At that time, the owner of ‘Taha me Orange’ was fined one lakh taka under the Safe Food Act-2013 for the crime of producing, importing, processing, storing, supplying and selling food products without registration. At the same time, the establishment has been sealed. Samples of food products manufactured by that establishment were collected for testing at the BSTI lab.
