Recently, students of Dhaka University have been protesting at midnight demanding a fair investigation into rape cases at various places, the death penalty as soon as possible, and the resignation of the Home Affairs Advisor. On Sunday (March 9), around 12 midnight, residential students of the university’s Sufia Kamal Hall brought out a procession of the Raju sculpture. Later, students from other halls joined them in solidarity. They kept raising various slogans.
On the ground, it was seen that at around 1:45 am, students sat on the street at the foot of the Raju sculpture and kept raising various slogans demanding punishment for the rapists. Students from almost every hall of the university participated with them and demanded the death penalty for the rapists. At 1 am, the Raju sculpture area started shaking with the slogans of the students.
Earlier, at 12 midnight, female students of the university’s Sufia Kamal Hall took out a procession. They started circling important places of Dhaka University with the procession.
