Female students receive prestigious US award

Women students who participated in the July Mass uprising received the Honorable ‘Medalin Allbright Honorary Group Award’ in the United States. The United States award the award along with the International Women’s Service (International Women of Carez – IWOC) award. The award was announced on the US State Department website last Friday. The winners will be awarded by US Secretary of State Marco Rubio and US First Lady Melania Trump on April 7.

Professor Muhammad Yunus, chief adviser to the interim government, congratulated the women students of the mass uprising on July.

According to the US State Department website, a group of women bravely played an important role in the student movement in July-August last year against repression in Bangladesh. They participated in the protest with extraordinary courage; Despite the risk of threatening and violence, law enforcement agencies and male protesters have protested. According to the website, the Women’s Student Protest Leaders of Bangladesh has been nominated for the Medalin Allbright Honorary Group Award.
