US to continue aid for Rohingyas, Yunus thanks Trump

Apurba Jahangir, Deputy Press Secretary to the Chief Adviser, said that the United States will continue to provide aid to the Rohingya refugees.
The nutrition and resources previously provided by USAID will remain in place.
He made the statement during a briefing organised by the Press Wing of the Chief Adviser at the Foreign Service Academy on Bailey Road in the capital on Sunday, January 26.
Apurba also mentioned that Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus expressed his gratitude to US President Donald Trump for maintaining US assistance to the Rohingyas.
After taking office, President Trump had suspended various forms of US aid worldwide for 90 days. However, Trump clarified that this suspension would not apply to the Rohingya crisis, said Apurba.
