Recalling the words of martyred President Ziaur Rahman, BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman warned the leaders and activists, saying, “The party is bigger than the individual, the country is bigger than the party. I deeply appreciate the long-standing unlimited sacrifice of each and every leader and activist for the party. Even then, I was forced to take organizational measures against those who would cause the party discipline to be violated, giving priority to the interests of the party over the individual. We will have to take them. BNP will not tolerate any act that violates party discipline or tarnishes the party’s image.”

He said this while virtually joining the party’s extended meeting at the LD Hall premises of the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban after 10 am on Thursday (February 27). In the extended meeting, Tarique Rahman said, “Because of your courage and honesty, BNP is not just an ordinary political party today. The democracy-loving and freedom-loving people of the country believe in BNP as the vanguard of Bangladesh’s independence and sovereignty.” He said, the extended meeting of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party, BNP, which is a symbol of the hopes and aspirations of the democracy-loving people of Bangladesh, is being held after a long 7 years. Earlier, the last extended meeting of BNP was held on February 4, 2018. Mother of Democracy Begum Khaleda Zia was the chief guest at that event.

We appeal to all leaders, activists, supporters and well-wishers of BNP and its affiliates and affiliated organizations across the country to remain disciplined and united.
