Police have recovered the half-decapitated body of an unidentified woman with her throat slit in Mathbaria Upazila of Pirojpur. The body was recovered from an abandoned house in Uttar Sonakhali village of Amragachia union of Mathbaria upazila of Pirojpur on Tuesday (March 18) afternoon. The woman is believed to be approximately 25 to 30 years old.

Mathbaria Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Abdullah Al Mamun said that locals called 999 from Uttar Sonakhali around 5 pm to report a dead body. On receiving the information, the police recovered the body of an unidentified woman from an abandoned house in Uor Sonakhali village of Amragachia union of Mathbaria upazila. The head of the body was cut off. Since the body was a few days old, the body had decomposed.

Local UP member Harun Jamaddar said that a local man named Mamun saw a body while collecting betel leaves in the abandoned house of Miraj Hazir. Mamun then informed the police, who came and recovered the body. The identity of the body has not been identified yet. The OC of Mathbaria Police Station said that the police have recovered the body and sent it to the morgue. Legal proceedings in this regard, including identification, are ongoing.
