Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky will visit Saudi Arabia next Monday. On the other hand, US President Donald Trump will also visit Saudi Arabia. Trump said the trip may take place next month. Zelensky and Trump separately announced this information on Thursday.
The Ukrainian president said on Thursday that he is going to the country next Monday to meet with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. Zelensky is going to Saudi Arabia before Ukrainian officials hold talks with US officials. Zelensky wrote on the messaging app Telegram, “I plan to visit Saudi Arabia next week, Monday, to meet with the crown prince.”
Zelensky also wrote that members of his delegation will then remain in Saudi Arabia to work with US partners. Ukraine is most interested in establishing peace. The Russia-Ukraine war has been going on for three years. US President Donald Trump has been working to end this war.
Trump’s special envoy for the Middle East, Steve Witkoff, said he was discussing with Ukraine the framework for a peace deal to end the war. A meeting between U.S. officials and Ukrainian officials is planned for next week in Saudi Arabia.
